At Narrabeen Sports High School, we completed the conversion of existing classrooms into two dedicated music rooms and a combined performance space. Works included full demolition and strip-out of existing fixtures, floor coverings and fittings, followed by construction of new acoustically treated walls, ceilings and doors, and installation of specialist acoustic fabric wall panelling, insulation and curtains to meet performance acoustic requirements. A new timber sprung floor was installed to the performance space, with new floor coverings throughout. Mechanical services were reconfigured with fan coil units repositioned and new supply fans installed. Electrical works included new LED lighting, power outlets, and data and telecommunications cabling to support AV and projector equipment. Existing security systems were retained, isolated and recommissioned throughout the works to ensure the school remained secure at all times. The project was delivered in full compliance with NCC, EFSG Design Guidelines and applicable Australian Standards, with all works coordinated around live school operations.
