Retractable Seating

At Macarthur Girls High School, we delivered the installation of a new motorised retractable seating system within the multipurpose hall. Works included demolition of approximately 120m² of existing flooring to construct new concrete footings, brick piers, and structural supports in line with engineering recommendations, before reinstating and polishing the timber floor. The retractable seating was designed and certified for compliance with BCA and accessibility standards, featuring carpeted platforms and steps, self-storing handrails and curtains, aisle lighting with glow-strip nosings, and numbered seating for ease of use. The system was integrated seamlessly with the hall’s layout to maintain sightlines from the control room and maximise functionality for performances and events.
