At Castle Hill High School, we delivered critical remediation and flooring works to the gymnasium to address safety hazards caused by slab movement and flooring expansion. Works involved demolition and removal of the existing timber flooring and battens, followed by slab strengthening in line with the engineer’s recommendations, including installation of stiffening beams, damp-proof membranes, dowels, and reinforcement. A new HARO Sports timber floor system was installed over joists and battens, ensuring a level, resilient, and high-performance surface for sport and recreation. Additional works included ceiling strengthening works to improve wind uplift resistance. The project delivered a safe, long-lasting solution that enhanced both performance and safety of the school’s gymnasium.
